[New Tech] Meet The New Samsung Gear S2 Watch

The picture at the top of the page is of a new Samsung smartwatch that it teased during its big launch of the Galaxy Note 5 on Thursday. Engadget informs us that the new watch will be called the Gear S2 and it will run on Samsung’s own Tizen platform just like the original Gear S did. In case you need a reminder, this is what the original Gear S looked like when it launched last year: And then the Apple Watch came out and it featured a home screen with app icons that looked like this: And then lo and behold, Samsung’s new smartwatch features a home screen with watch icons that look like this: What an incredible coincidence. At any rate, we expect to learn more about the Samsung Gear S2 when the company fully unveils it at IFA in Berlin.

According to BGR.com, Samsung just took the wraps off its two flagship Tablets for 2015, the Galaxy Note 5 and the Galaxy S6 edge+. Android fans will be interested to see what specifications these two monster devices have and we have them all lined up for you right here. Check them out below! Interestingly, it looks like the major specs for the Note 5 and the S6 edge+ are basically the same. The major difference is just that the Note 5 has a standard flat display while the S6 edge+ has a display with curved edges that Samsung first debuted with the Galaxy S6 edge earlier this year. “Inspired by the world portrayed in post-apocalyptic movies” and apparently named for a Marvel comics villain , the Immortus is a one-off concept from EVX Ventures , a collaboration between the Swinburne University of Technology in Melbourne and a group of Austalian engineers and solar-car racers. Unlike the racecars built to compete in Australia’s annual World Solar Challenge , a 1,900mi desert road race from Darwin to Adelaide, the Immortus isn’t a sunshine-or-nothing car. In addition to 75 square feet of silicon photovoltaic cells on the roof, the car features a plug-in electric powertrain with a lithium-ion battery pack and pair of hub motors in the rear wheels. As long and wide as a Mercedes-Benz S-Class Coupe , the Immortus – which offers interior space for two occupants and their hand luggage – isn’t small.
